During class time the outdoors can be utilised for individual, small group work through to whole school gatherings. Sound is free to dissipate into the open air and the breeze and sunshine bring therapeutic benefits to the wellbeing of students.
A well designed space is multipurpose, providing many uses. At Everything Outside a playground and outdoor classroom project is designed to be used throughout the school day. A seating pod can be used during break time for lunch, rest and socialising and during class time for small group work. Riverbeds are interspersed with sandstone seating that are used both in break time and are oriented to facilitate groups during class time. Mature trees and gardens provide shade and natural beauty, creating an inviting space for the school community to congregate.
