CASE STUDIES
The Brief
Riverside Christian College briefed Everything Outside to replace an aging play area to cater to 900 primary students with age-appropriate play areas within a single zone. The project required a nature-play theme that included outdoor learning areas on a long, narrow site that needed to be enclosed for safety.
The Challenge
The main challenge was to accommodate the varying needs of 900 students and fit all these differing needs for play, learning, and rest in a single zone.
The Solution
Everything Outside employed uniformity in design across the site. A big riverbed links the site, featuring nature poles, crossing logs, and 3D animals woven along with play features. These include wobble bridges, musical instruments, traverse ropes, handgrip climbers, mini hangout pods, and up-and-over climbers to encourage exercise and movement.
Further along the riverbed, water play areas, a conveyor belt, and scales encourage imaginative play. Adjacent to this area are three climbing towers linked by rope bridges, featuring a slippery dip, a surfboard climbing wall, and monkey bars, among other features.
Amazing Outcome
The newly designed play area successfully accommodated the needs of 900 primary students, offering a variety of play, learning, and rest areas within a single, enclosed zone. The uniform design and diverse play features not only provided ample opportunities for physical exercise and imaginative play but also ensured the safety and engagement of all students. The nature-play theme and outdoor learning areas created an enriching environment that fostered both physical and cognitive development.
